Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Engineer for high pressure valves, power packs and mechanized mining equipment Design of new equipment, product support & improvement on existing equipment Complete product / project lifecycle - from conceptualization through design manufacturing, testing & trialling Must be willing to do underground visits as required on various sites Technical assistance to production on equipment related issues Attend design reviews and discussions Prototype development and testing Checking and approval of drawings & materials list generated by staff Generate and review product documentation General assistance to production, sales and suppliers on current jobs (part numbers, queries, costings) Assist suppliers with drawing, manufacturing, material or quality queries
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum B. Eng. Mechanical (M. Eng. will be beneficial) Able to follow instructions & work both in a team and individually Objective driven & not task orientated Self-driven and ability to work independently MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint SolidWorks and/or Enterprise PDM exposure will be beneficial Valve experience and understanding of codes (ASME, ANSI, BS, EN) pertaining to pressure vessel, welding & valves would be advantageous CAD, FEA, CFD knowledge would be an advantage Minimum 3 years working experience South African Citizen
