Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing full lifecycle product development.
• Designing systems and components that meet needs and requirements.
• Conducting experiments methodically, analysing data and interpreting results.
• Production design and draughting.
• Liaise with the costing and production department.
• Production of all fabrication's drawings upon request to the relevant standards and procedures.
• Ensure that all drawings and work instructions are kept up to date.
• Ensure the quality of products and services is maintained and make improvements.
• Communication between different departments on current projects and requirements thereof.
• Concept design.
• Utilise work orders, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine job requirements.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with specification.
• Program and maintain current file revisions of drawings.
• Prepare detailed standardised work instructions and set-up sheets.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years proven work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Working experience within the Agricultural sector advantageous
• Project Management experience- beneficial
• Draughting skills
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design software. (SolidWorks & Inventor)
• National Senior Certificate.
• Driver's licence.
• Competent in Microsoft applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technically minded & a creative thinker.
