Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems and components that meet project requirements and industry standards.
Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and other engineering tools to create detailed drawings, models, and prototypes of mechanical designs, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to validate design concepts and optimize product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Generate technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and design reports, to communicate design requirements and project status to stakeholders and team members.
Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to support prototype development, production ramp-up, and product launch activities.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in mechanical engineering, applying relevant knowledge and insights to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and vendors to source components, materials, and services required for prototype development and manufacturing.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience (X years) working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a strong background in conceptual design, modeling, and analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and simulation tools, with the ability to create and analyze complex mechanical designs and assemblies.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and methodologies, including materials selection, stress analysis, and tolerance analysis.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a track record of identifying and resolving technical challenges throughout the design and development process.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles preferred.
