Job Description
A world class fuel refinery has a vacancy available for a Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) at their premises in Milnerton, Cape Town.The successful candidate will be required to participate in cross-functional initiatives, plant support, incident investigations and projects through:
- Providing inputs into rotating equipment design requirements
- Reviewing proposed rotating equipment related designs and analyses.
- Providing technical support for execution and construction
- Providing shutdown support
- Providing rotating equipment technical support to operations and maintenance in petrochemical environment both on and off-site
- Providing engineering support to rotating equipment projects
- Participating in rotating equipment failure analysis
- Providing support to Maintenance, Technical and Operations personnel
- B.Eng. / B.Sc. Engineering in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Masters in rotating equipment will be beneficial
- Design experience relating to rotating equipment will be beneficial
- Pr. Eng will be beneficial
- 8 Years Petrochemical / Refining working experience, 5 of which must be in rotating equipment
- Knowledge of Pumps, turbines, centrifugal- and reciprocating compressors with associated auxiliary systems
- Failure investigations (RCAs etc.)
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (PER, ASME, API, ISO etc.)
