Within the limits of authority set by Management, the employee will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment in order to produce products according to plan and within laid down standards.Required outputs: functional

• Plant Maintenance: Ensure plant equipment is in good working order, perform repairs, and conduct proactive and predictive maintenance.
• Plant Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the functioning of various plant and equipment, report findings through SAP, and recommend corrective actions to ensure optimal performance.
• Supervision and Leadership: Supervise Fitter Aids, guide and mentor Apprentices, and coordinate maintenance activities with production and workshop personnel.
• Safety and Compliance: Comply with site-specific safety regulations, procedures, and Company rules, as well as relevant safety regulations prescribed in the OHS Act.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Conduct frontline troubleshooting, attend to repairs, and report any deviations in asset functionality.
• Administration: Keep accurate records of maintenance, repair, and construction work, and order required spares and materials from stores.
• Installation and Commissioning: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring that it is properly integrated into existing systems.
• Standby and Emergency Response: Participate in standby duties and provide emergency repairs and maintenance services outside of regular working hours.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to optimize maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and improve overall plant efficiency.
• Contractor Management: Supervise and coordinate the work of external contractors, ensuring that they comply with site safety regulations and Company standards.

• Qualified Fitter with N3 Certificate and Trade Test (or completed apprenticeship as a Millwright or Fitter & Turner)
• Minimum 5 years of Chemical Plant maintenance experience
• Strong technical, problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Good communication skills and a team player
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams related to trade
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
