ACCIONA Energxc3xada is governed by the most demanding environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.ACCIONA Energy South Africa O&M is currently looking for a Mechanical PV Technician for our solar plant in Sishen, near Kathu.Mission:Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks at the facility to achieve optimum performance of the Solar Farm at all times. Ensure the safety and reliability of machinery to optimize plant availability.Responsibilities:Mechanical Support

• Perform relevant tasks and actions to keep the Solar Farm operating optimally at all times with maximum availability.
• Proactive repair of component replacement to prevent complete failure or downtime.
• Perform servicing, troubleshooting and repair of the solar panel and mechanical components in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
• Ensure efficiency of the solar panels whilst observing the sites safety, quality and environmental rules and laws.
• Apply troubleshooting, corrective, predictive and preventative maintenances and inspections whilst attending to every incident that could adversely affect the Solar Farms operations.
• Assist specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchanges or maintenance.

Reporting

• Capture tasks on the O&M management systems (Work order) on a daily basis
• Provide daily feedback to the Technical Supervisor of the solar farm team after completion of each work day.
• Report safety matters, incidents/near misses to management/safety department.
• Report all material consumptions and low stock levels to the warehouse technician timeously.

Tools and equipment

• Responsible for tools (tools to be marked), material and property of the company including vehicles.
• Manage and maintain the material logistics and maintenance of provided tools.

Safety, health and environmental (SHE) compliance

• Ensure compliance with the companys health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations and report any incidents/near misses immediately to superiors.

Other

• Assist with ad hoc requests and projects that may reasonably be expected within the company from time to time to promote the aims of the company.
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Self-motivated and enjoy working independently and as a member of a team.

• N4 Mechanical Engineering
• Must have completed Mechanical (Fitting or Millwright) Trade Test

Additional Training:

• Valid Drivers License (minimum code B)
• Computer literate (MS Office)
