Stefanutti Stocks offers a supportive and dynamic work environment, opportunities for growth, and a commitment to employee safety and development.Role Purpose:The Mechanical Supervisor/Foreman will assist in coordinating and overseeing the production and installation of Mechanical and Plumbing services on various contracts. This role involves liaising with technical teams to ensure specifications are met, as well as managing site coordination and production activities.Key Responsibilities:Planning & Programming:
- Advise on coordination, sequencing, and resource planning for installations.
- Interpret and scrutinize drawings, identifying and reporting discrepancies.
- Ensure timely identification and resolution of plan discrepancies.Site Administration:
- Comply with company policies and procedural requirements for site management.
- Monitor subcontractor progress, ensuring timely placement of orders for labour, plant, and materials.
- Prepare and submit progress, coordination, and scheduling reports.Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor the Project Quality Plan to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Report and monitor corrective actions for non-compliance issues.SHEQ Assurance:
- Maintain site safety standards in compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Ensure the safety of working conditions, equipment, and issue safety gear.Qualifications:
- Completion of NTSC 2 or 3 trade theory.
- Ideally, a completed and passed plumber trade test as specified in the Manpower Training Act (section 28 or 13).
- A relevant plumber qualification under the Skills Development Act is preferred.Experience:- At least five years of related experience in the construction or engineering environment.
- Candidates may be required to work outside of Western Cape, but home base will ideally be in Cape Town.Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in written and oral communication in English.
- Strong numerical orientation and planning skills.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
- Proven experience in driving production and making decisive decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to delegate tasks.
- Computer literate and a team player.Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes and trades.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of the plumbing industry, materials, plant, and equipment.
- Familiar with site administration systems and construction team coordination.
- Well-versed in Safety requirements and health legislation.
