Job Description


A Leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Medical Sales Representative to promote their Dermatology range to Dermatologists, GP's and Dispensing Doctors within the KZN Mainline region.Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for planning and promoting the products as given by the company to achieve your sales target within your region.
  • Seek opportunities for growth in your region.
  • Building strong relationships with Dermatologist, CME's and attending congresses.
  • Servicing smaller pharmacies close to practices
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promoting products to Targeted Doctors - Dermatologist, Pediatricians, General Practitioners (8 a day)
  • Liaise and persuade targeted doctors to prescribe their products utilizing effective selling skills and performing cost-benefit analysis
  • Selling and promoting against sales targets and achieve territory plan objectives
  • Implementation and execution of value-added programs across territory, CME's
  • Responsible for smaller pharmacies / in practice pharmacies like Medicross to keep promote your products making sure when script gets dispensed that its captured, ensure no out of stock
  • Territory management and developing a routine call cycle for all customers within the allocated territory
  • Build relationships with target customers to enhance product knowledge and gain product endorsement to generate sales
  • Ensure all target customers are fully informed of the product range, correct product application /dosages by means of regular trainings and one-on-one detailing
  • General admin: Consolidating monthly expenses, weekly call planner and feedback on infield activities to Regional sales Manager
  • Travel to defined geographies to promote products
  • Organizing appointments and meetings with targeted pharmacies and Doctors
  • Identifying and establishing new businesses in your area
  • Monitor and analyze data and market conditions to identify competitive advantage
  • Meeting both the business and scientific needs of the healthcare professional
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problem, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Reviewing sales performance in monthly reviews and present territory
  • Attend company meetings, technical data presentation and briefings
  • Servicing Dispensing Dr practices on monthly basis or as frequently as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3- 5 years Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical experience
  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, Computer Literate
  • Valid Driver's license and own vehicle
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Science/ Sales and Marketing or business
