The University is seeking healthcare professionals who embrace the values of Nelson Mandela university and who are committed to living his legacy in creating a more equal and just society for allCORE PURPOSE OF JOBBe responsible for logistics services in the Medical School on the Missionvale Campus and distributed clinical platformKEYPERFORMANCEAREAS

  • Develop and implement an annual Logistic Plan for the Medical School to include Procurement, Venue bookings, Transport, Student Accommodation, and Infrastructure and Maintenance, and special events.
  • Plan and manage the order cycle for purchases, storage, transport and delivery of goods and services for the Medical School, inclusive of shipping documents, bills and accounts, invoices and payments.
  • Be responsible for asset management.
  • Plan and manage venue bookings for teaching and learning, meetings, third stream and special events.
  • Plan and manage student transport in conjunction with established services.
  • Plan and manage student accommodation on the distributed clinical platform, including district hospitals in Sarah Baartman District.
  • Liaise with University structures regarding infrastructure and maintenance on the Missionvale Campus and on the distributed clinical platform.
  • Assist with special event planning.
  • Provide administrative assistance with new infrastructure projects.
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of logistics planning.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in supply chain management.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable software systems related to logistics.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with internal clients and external suppliers and service providers.
  • Knowledge of applicable university policies and protocols.
  • Proven ability with time management and delivery of high-quality work under pressure.
  • Ability to be a team player and part of a professional team in the Medical School and Faculty of Health Sciences
MINIMUMREQUIREMENTSEducationMatric plus a three-year completed degree/diploma related to Logistics /Project ManagementExperience and skillsAt least 3 years work experience in Logistics/Project Management. Proven ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point and Outlook.
