Vacancy - Merchandiser

The following fixed term position based in Cape Townhas become vacant within Safe Top Retail Distributors (Pty) Ltd:

JOB TITLE: Merchandiser

EDUCATION: Minimum Grade 12

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years merchandising experience within the retail sector

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & REQUIREMENTS:

Valid driver's license essential Ability to travel far and stay away from home as and when required Computer Literacy Fluent in English and Afrikaans Attention to detail essential Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic environment Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritize Excellent communication and negotiation skills Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend solutions High energy levels Hard worker and self-motivated Teamwork

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE

Accountable for merchandising, in-store activation, growth of an assigned territory or region that is of strategic importance to Safe Top.

Merchandising and display of products in such a way that it stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase.

Sell fasteners and hardware to Hardware Merchants, Building Supplies, Wholesalers and Co-ops.

Review past stock plans and estimate customer demands to secure "top up" orders from existing customers.

Develop long-term, sustainable business relationships with customers.

Ensure all stands are cleaned fully merchandised stands in store.

Ensure all point-of-sale material is in place.

Demonstrate products and services to existing and potential customers.
