Job Description

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Metallurgist to join our client's team in the Mining Industry. This position will be based in the North West region of South Africa. As a Metallurgist, you will play a key role in optimizing and ensuring the efficient operation of metallurgical processes to achieve production targets and maintain high-quality standards.Our client is a reputable mining company known for their commitment to excellence, safety, and sustainability. • Conduct laboratory and field experiments to analyze and evaluate metallurgical processes and ore samples.
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and optimize process performance.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to maximize recovery, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all metallurgical activities.
• Document and report on process performance, including providing recommendations for improvement.
• Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in metallurgical processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to plant operations personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in metallurgical plants.
• Strong experience in PGM flotation and Chrome recovery plants is required.
• Solid understanding of mineral processing techniques and metallurgical principles.
• Proficient in data analysis, problem-solving, and process optimization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations in the Mining Industry.
• Valid driver's license and own transportation.
