Job Description

A leading and renowned printing company based in Stikland, is looking for a high performing Graphic Designer to join their vibrant team. You will work closely with the creative and production teams to design print-ready materials for a variety of projects including brochures, catalogues, flyers, posters, packaging, and other marketing collateral. You will take design concepts from inception to final output while ensuring high-quality standards and tight adherence to project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience within a similar role.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

Design Creation:

Develop and execute print design solutions, ensuring the highest quality output that meets client needs and specifications

Collaboration:

Work with project managers, marketing teams, and clients to understand project goals, creative direction, and requirements

Pre-Press Preparation:

Prepare files for print production, including managing colour settings, file formats, and bleeds. Ensure files are press-ready and compatible with different printing methods

Brand Consistency:

Maintain consistency across design elements and ensure alignment with the client's brand guidelines

Problem Solving:

Troubleshoot design and production issues, offering solutions that improve design and production processes

Revisions:

Handle revisions and feedback effectively, managing multiple iterations while meeting deadlines

File Management:

Organize and manage design files, ensuring they are appropriately archived and easy to access for future use

Quality Assurance:

Proof designs for print accuracy, ensuring no errors are introduced during the production process

Qualifications:

Matric/Grade 12 Certificate

Relevant tertiary qualification Graphic Design / Visual Communications

Minimum of 4-5 years' experience within the print industry

Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

Strong understanding of print production processes, colour theory, and typography

Experience with pre-press techniques, file preparation, and print technologies

Skills:

Deadline orientated and work well under pressure

Attention to Detail:

Ability to work meticulously to ensure error-free designs and layouts.

Time Management

: Ability to juggle multiple projects with different deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients (English & Afrikaans)

Positive and assertive attitude

A good team player

Ability to work both independently and in a team

Capable of managing multiple activities simultaneously

Disciplined to meet and exceed delivery on deadlines
