Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Millwright Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment within the plant. This role ensures that machinery operates efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and maximize production output.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment and systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform repairs. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Perform precision alignment and calibration of machinery components. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance work. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to equipment upgrades or modifications. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior technicians or apprentices as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Recognized Millwright Trade Test Certificate. Minimum 11 years of relevant working experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems. Ability to interpret technical documents and engineering drawings. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience with power tools, welding equipment, and lifting devices. Sound understanding of safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime or shifts when required.
