Job Description


A Well-Established mine based in the North West has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mine Planning Manager with Conventional Shaft experience! The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mine planning process and ensuring efficient and effective extraction of the mineral resource. They also lead the mine planning department, coordinate with different stakeholders to ensure accurate production planning and mine designs. If this sounds like you, apply now!Responsibilities:

  • Safety, Health and Environment: Ensure all safe work practices are observed and implemented.
  • Operations and Technical Input: Develop and implement long-term mine plans to optimize production and minimize cost. Ensures mine designs
  • and schedules are timeously updated in line with the appropriate mine planning objectives or directives as required. Monitor and evaluate mining
  • progress and make necessary adjustments to meet production targets. Develop short-term plans to guide daily operations. Implement best practices
  • for mine planning and ensure compliance with health, safety and environment. Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and
  • forecast for the mining operations. Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve mine planning processes and optimize production efficiency. Input
  • into the weekly G-sheet and update the G-sheet plan as required in preparation for the weekly sessions. Input into the monthly pre-planning and
  • planning meetings as required by various stakeholders. Monitor, update on a weekly and monthly basis any deviation or non-compliance to the mine
  • plan or mine planning directives. Attend to other functions as may be determined by the Technical Services Manager.
Requirements:
  • Degree or National Diploma in Mining Engineering or Mineral Resource Management
  • 8 - 10 years` experience in mine production in an underground conventional mining or mechanised mining environment
  • Of which 5 years must be in mine planning in an underground mine.
  • Experience in mechanized bord and pillar
  • Blasting Certificate will be advantageous
  • Proficiency in use of Mine Planning Packages (MineRP, Deswik, Studio 5d Planner, or similar)
