To ensure the safe operation of the MMU by conducting daily pre-start safety checks at the beginning of each shift, inspecting equipment functionality, fluid levels, lights, controls, and overall operation, verifying safe working conditions, and reporting any sub-standard conditions to the Site Supervisor.
To take ownership of MMU care and maintenance by becoming fully conversant with the IBIS Control System, identifying abnormal conditions in both the MMU and work area, performing first-line maintenance, maintaining general housekeeping of the cab, chassis, and plant, and decontaminating the truck according to schedule and as required.
To safely assemble primers to specification by gathering necessary materials, referencing blasting plans and specifications, assembling primers in a controlled environment, securing each component correctly, inspecting for anomalies or defects, and ensuring proper labeling as required.
To prime blast holes safely and in accordance with specifications by reviewing the blast design and hole patterns, correctly placing primers, connecting detonators, installing lead lines and blasting cord, and thoroughly inspecting each blast hole to verify placement and address any issues as required.
To conduct on-bench quality checks on drill patterns, blast hole depths, and stemming lengths by reviewing the blast design, physically inspecting the bench, using appropriate measuring tools to assess hole depths, angles, and stemming lengths, documenting all measurements, identifying and rectifying any deviations from the plan, and reporting discrepancies and risks to the Site Supervisor as required.
To contribute to the development and improvement of service work instructions and customer safety initiatives by actively participating in training programs and workshops, staying updated on company standards, policies, procedures, and industry best practices, offering constructive input for process improvements, and promptly reporting any incidents or operational challenges as required.
