A well-established and reputable company urgently requires a suitably qualified Millwright Artisan at their chemical manufacturing factory in Cato Ridge, KZN.
Purpose of the job
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations and maintenance at the Cato Ridge plant so as to meet production of customer volumes and quality requirements in a safe and efficient manner that ensures the business’s sustainable profitability and competitiveness in the region.
Qualifications:
• Matric
• National Diploma/ S4 Electrical Engineering (Process Instrumentation) - Advantageous
• Trade certificate – Millwright
Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• 2 years’ experience in spares and dangerous goods handling.
Knowledge / Competencies
• Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• SAP
• Report writing
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of SHERQ Management Standards

Key performance area
• To manage all Cato sites operations and make sure that they are run efficiently and ensuring continuous stock availability and turnaround with customers.
• To manage the Site Emergency System with relevant problem solving to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the Cato site.
• To manage the plant maintenance program to ensure minimum disruption to production activities.
• Maintaining Plant Instruments.
• Conducting inspections and installations
• Attending to emergency plant breakdowns.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis for all Instrumentation faults.
• Plant Improvement projects.
• To ensure that the specified safety standards are maintained at all times.
• To control plant maintenance expenses within the annual fixed cost budget.
• Personal responsibility and authority.
• SHERQ responsibilities.
Personal Circumstances:
• Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre
• Will be required work standby
Other details:
Salary: R350K basic annual salary negotiable depending on experience (market related)
