Purpose of the job
• Provide quality occupational, primary, and promotional health services according to relevant legislation.
• Have knowledge of spirometry and audiometry interpretation and intervention.
• Support the business in achieving SHERQ objectives.
Qualifications:
• Matric
• Diploma/Degree in Nursing
• BTech Occupational Health Nursing Science or Post Basic Occupational Health Nursing
• Certificate in Audiometry
• Certificate in Spirometry
• Dispensing license
• SANC Registration
• SASOHN Registration
• Audiometrist Registration
Experience
• 3-5 years occupational health experience in the occupational health setting.

Key performance area
1. Spirometry and Audiometry Measurement
• Determine lung function fitness of all people entering the site according to the SABS 083 standards.
• Determine hearing levels of all people entering the site according to SABS 083/152 standards and instruction 171 of the OHS Act.
• Complete the relevant questionnaire with any abnormal results.
2. Pre-employment Medicals
• Determine the person’s current medical condition by performing baseline medical examinations according to Occupational Health Policy and Procedure.
• Ensure that the Occupational Medical Practitioner carries out a physical examination, by on the day of examination.
• Draw a risk-based nursing care plan on all new employees, to prevent occupational health diseases.
3. Medical Surveillance (Physical Examinations)
• Determine any deterioration in employee’s health since the previous examination by conducting a medical surveillance examination as per schedule.
• Ensure that any abnormal results are reported to the Occupational Medical Practitioner as soon as possible and to plant management soonest possible after consultation with the OMP.

Salary: R400K basic annual salary negotiable depending on experience (Market related).
