Purpose of the job
The Payroll Administrator is mainly responsible for:
• The administration of the company’s monthly Payroll, ESS system (overtime, claims and leave) and salaries cashbook
• Ensuring that the earnings and deductions input captured in respect of payroll input is valid, accurate and complete.
• Assisting payroll manager with monthly payroll preparations, reconciliations and payments
• Ensuring that queries regarding overtime, leave and any other payroll related are identified and resolved within payroll deadlines
• Providing support to the Finance department
The responsibilities above mentioned shall be conducted in compliance with the requirements of the South African National Standard (SANS 10142 Part 1 and Part 2) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act No.85 of 1993.

2. To ensure that payroll input captured in respect of all earnings and deductions is valid, accurate and complete
3. To assist the payroll manager with monthly payroll preparations, reconciliations and payments
4. To provide support to the payroll manager
6. To ensure that payroll records are updated and maintained timeously and accurately
7. To ensure that all payroll related payments are paid on time and required documents are sent to third parties
8. SHERQ Responsibilities
Experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in Payroll Administration
• 3-5 years’ experience supporting finance and accounting
Qualifications:
• Grade 12/Finance NQF level 4 or the equivalent
• Certificate in Payroll Administration (Desirable)
• National Diploma/Degree in Finance (Advantageous)
Technical Competencies
• Computer literacy: Advanced Excel
• Sage People Payroll – 2 years
• Knowledge of Payroll Best Practices
• Knowledge of relevant tax legislation
• Knowledge of the Basic conditions of Employment act
• In depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculations and processing
• Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)

Personal Circumstances:
• Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
Other
Salary: Market related (R300k basic annual salary depending on experience)
