This position reports to the Marketplace Manager of Mr D.Position Overview: The Advertising Analyst is involved in analysing data, identifying trends, creating forecasting models and providing insights to maximise the effectiveness of advertising efforts. This person will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales and Key Accounts Teams, and Campaign Management Teams to drive the advertising objectives of the business.The position reports to the Marketplace Manager.Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic & market analysis of the online advertising sector in South Africa
• Analysis of the performance of Advertising assets and creating reports that inform decision making in the business
• Assisting the Advertising team in building Advertising budgets; forecasts and sales team targets
• Building insights into trends and opportunities within Mr D's Advertising business
• Performing ad hoc analysis to support the Sales and Key Accounts Teams; Product Team and Campaign Management Teams
• Support key client meetings with data-driven insights
• Turning business questions into functional analyses to test theories.
• Conduct analytical support (Analysis requests for advertising and related teams) to generate valuable insight in understanding campaigns and performance
• Prepare and automate reports for analysis
• Assist with data project automation
• Work on forecast model improvements
• Budget / Plan assistance

• Ability to translate business needs and goals into analytic approach and response
• A high-energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Highly organised and efficient, with an ability to work towards and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications and Experience:

• 1+ years analytical, finance or management consulting experience
• Relevant Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Commerce or Business Science required
• High proficiency in advanced Excel with practical experience using Google Sheets for data analysis.
• Basic SQL
• Experience using machine learning algorithms and building predictive models is advantageous
• 1+ years of experience using Big Query is advantageous
• Experience using Google Analytics and Qlik is advantageous
• Experience in Retail or e-commerce environment is advantageous.
