Job Summary Responsible for the end-to-end management and operations of an in-house multimedia studio, including filming, directing, editing and publishing both simple and complex video and audio solutions in support of the Learning Design and Development function.



The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create visually compelling video content from concept to final application.
  • Film TED talk style of videos using Green Screen technology.
  • Create voice over recordings for podcasts or as overlay on animation videos.
  • Produce livestreams from the in-house studio or on location.
  • Add intro and outro music, templates, and logos to videos.
  • Create video animations.
  • Apply and maintain consistent brand identity and messaging across all media.
  • Manage the in-house multimedia studio end-to-end.
  • Manage own content on the approved video hosting platform.
  • Create and deliver digital content that is inclusive and aligned to international accessibility standards.
  • Focus on creating videos that are specifically designed to promote an enhanced learning experience.
  • Understand business requirements to effectively deliver appropriate solutions aligned to organisational and business strategy.
  • Consult across all levels in the organisation on video pre-production planning, scripts and shooting schedule.
  • Review requests received from stakeholders for relevance to the identified target audience, compliance to policies and procedures and realistic deadlines.
  • Ensure quality control and attention to detail to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Advise on the utilisation of vendors and manage vendors in case of capability and /or capacity gaps.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to work in and with large teams and manage tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience with video editing software, lighting and sound equipment, camera equipment, colour grading, motion graphics, video compression, video production workflows, and video project management.
  • Ability to manage own work effectively
  • Ability to film 3D videos
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities under tight time constraints.
  • Adhere to deadlines and demonstrate effective time management, project management and organisational skills.
  • Creative problem-solver who demonstrates initiative, energy, confidence and humour while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work with stakeholders and customers at all levels of the organisation.
Technical Competencies:
  • Video and audio creation and editing skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft 365 products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
  • Knowledge and experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud software applications, specifically Premier Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Ability to understand and apply appropriate technology to work processes.
  • Analysis - Knowledge and ability to analyse business requirements to be met by a suitable solution
  • Planning and organising - ability to plan, manage, monitor and evaluate specific activities in order to deliver the desired outputs.
  • Administration - ability to obtain, record, analyse, and report information to enable effective and efficient administrative processes.
  • Quality management - ability to implement operational techniques and activities that are used to fulfil requirements for quality assurance.

Education
  • Bachelor of Arts in Film Production or a similar qualification (NQF7)
Work Experience
  • 3-5 years working experience in filming and video editing
  • Experience and knowledge of working with filming equipment
  • Have experience in using postproduction software and applications such as Adobe Premier Pro and/or Camtasia.
  • Experience in managing a film studio
Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)
