Minimum Requirements
Education:
CFP, MBA or Post Graduation Financial qualification
A post-graduate qualification in management or leadership will be an advantage
KI FAIS qualification
Experience:
At least 10 years' experience in a sales and distribution related role within financial services or similar background would be preferred
10 years' experience in Financial Planning, all aspects
Experience in the wealth target segment would be an advantage
Proven track record in people management and leading and directing a sales and distribution team of professionals
Experience in leading a high-performance team managing individual client accounts
Proven track record in achieving business objectives and revenue targets
Experience in leading and managing culturally diverse teams
The establishment of a good network and / or collaborative relationships with professional associations and industry bodies to support achievement of Wealth Advisory growth objectives
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of best practices in the financial planning and advisory services in the wealth advisory space
Knowledge and understanding of business development and productivity management
Knowledge and understanding of the financial drivers of a sales and distribution model with specific reference to sales capacity, product margin and acquisition cost and how these drivers impact on the value of new business as a contributor to the success of the business
Knowledge and appreciation of the need for consistency in advice and service delivery across the Wealth Advisory business and Western Cape Financial Advisory region to mitigate against reputational and miss selling risk
Ability to develop and implement new business development and distribution methods as required
Ability to present to members and public audiences and ability to handle media engagements
Understanding of all related industry legislation
Have extensive working knowledge of the financial services environment including but not limited to Wealth, Investments, Risk and Insurance

Assist in setting the strategic direction for and managing the team of Wealth Managers.
Develop the Wealth Advisory value proposition for the attraction of new Wealth Managers.
Recruit, manage, and motivate Wealth Managers according to company procedures, policy and PPS Internal Distribution strategic objectives.
Support the continued establishment, promotion and growth of the PPS Wealth Advisory brand.
Scanning the environment for local and global wealth management industry developments trends, best practice for strategic design purposes.
Developing and applying best of breed practices required for a sustainable Wealth Advisory business.
Oversee Wealth Advisory team skills development as aligned to statutory requirements & personal development as well as a competitive differentiator.
Build relationships with organisations, corporates and associations to enable business development and networking.
Ensuring that the Wealth Advisory advice philosophy and processes are consistently applied across the Wealth Advisory activities.
Ensure the required operational process, reports and models are in place for Wealth Advisory to deliver appropriate solutions & recommendations that are designed and implemented in keeping with Wealth Advisory best practice standards
Keep abreast of changing legislation and ensure ongoing compliance as per the relevant industry legislation and regulations.
Ensure that a competitive product and service solution range is available to Wealth Managers to solve for the advice needs of members
Ensure alignment with and optimal integration with the business objectives of the PPS Mutual System.
Assisting Wealth Managers in growing and maximising the value and quality of their books.
Manage Wealth Advisory resources according to agreed budgets based on businesses needs
Oversee the Wealth Advisory teams through management and delegation, to ensure a superior client experience and efficient execution
Achieve set business Wealth Advisory targets around all key business indicators
Manage and effectively grow business relationships with the PPSI, ASE FA, S3, Fiduciary Services, PPS Ins Co, Member Value Proposition (MVP), Glu and other business partners.
Deal with formal and informal member complaints in an effective and constructive manner.
Implement corrective action to address shortcomings in achieving the sales targets and revenues of Wealth Advisory
Propose new initiatives, plans and programmes to improve the effectiveness of the Wealth Advisory activities in conjunction with the Practice Manager.
Represent the requirements of the Wealth Managers team within relevant and mandated external and internal structures
Report and oversee all risk and governance activities related to the Wealth Manager activities
Effectively mitigate and manage risk and governance requirements
* Participate in all relevant compliance, risk and advice forums.
