Job Description


A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a National Sales Manager to develop and execute sales strategies, ensuring maximized sales opportunities and achievement of annual targets. The role involves leading zonal managers and the sales force to increase product awareness, monitoring competition, optimizing sales territories, and continuously assessing sales performance.Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy to maximise sales opportunities and achieve of annual sales results.
  • You will be responsible for working with the country Leadership team to implement the long term strategic plan, including selection of the right distribution network, market, customer, product, and in-market execution.
  • You will be responsible for leading zonal managers and the sales force, increasing awareness of the product, and achieving business results.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of marketing concepts by coaching zonal managers. You will also participate in regular business-reviews.
  • You will be responsible for organising and optimising sales territories by targeting and profiling clients, and monitoring field processes.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance through cycle reviews to increase individual effectiveness (output) of every employee.
  • You will be responsible for evaluating the competitive landscape by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new launches, etc. and recommending changes to products, services, and offerings.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing new portfolio opportunities for hospital channel.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining professional and technical knowledge through education and professional development to sustain future growth in the hospital channel.
  • You will be responsible for continuously monitoring the performance of the sales force and generating appropriate sales reports to ensure the effective management of resources.
  • You will be responsible for defining and implementing standards and operating rules for the sales organization, including reporting issues, customer base structuring, and territorial distribution redesign together with the SFE and the marketing department.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Attributes
Educational qualification: A Graduate in ScienceMinimum work experience: 8 to 15 years of sales management experienceSkills & attributes:
  • Experience in managing large teams.
  • Demonstrated consistency in sales results.
  • Understanding of local pharmaceutical and medical device market, key trends and KOL (Key Opinion Leader) relationship, therapy knowledge, territory and geography knowledge.
  • Knowledge and skills in sales and marketing management.
  • People management and coaching skills.
  • Cross cultural orientation.
  • Strong communication skills.
