Job Summary Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Diploma/Degree within Transport, Distribution or Logistics (Preferable)
  • Minimum of 5 years in similar role
  • Great knowledge of SA Geography
  • Working knowledge of TMS (Transport Management Software)
  • Proficient in MS Office and G-Suite
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and find new business prospects, such as those involving partnerships, clients, growth areas, goods, and services, as well as new markets.
  • Oversee the current fleet and look for space to grow it over time.
  • Establish strategic alliances with subcontractors.
  • Produce leads and cultivate a network of potential customers and/or business prospects, with an emphasis on taught liners.
  • Create strategic connections with customers and guarantee that service standards are upheld.
  • In charge of risk and contract management.
  • Inform the management team of any noteworthy problems or developments.
  • Give management access to weekly and monthly information on scheduling, maintenance, and budgets.
Operations:
  • Establishing effective routes and transportation plans
  • Scheduling routine maintenance on all vehicles
  • Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed
  • Coordinating drivers and maintenance specialists when setting employee schedules
  • Manage all vehicle license and registrations
  • Ensure that all Fleet members have a valid drivers license
  • Source recruit and train new drivers
  • Provide reports on budgeting, schedules , maintenance and fleet progress
  • Improve efficiency and develop methods to decrease cost
