Our company specializes in the development, final processing, packaging and marketing of dried fruit, nuts and related specialty products for South African and international retail. The following career opportunity has become available at our processing and packaging plant in the Ceres Valley.NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPER (Entry Level)Purpose of Position: Key role in new product development projects and assist with the creation of social media content.The incumbent forms part of a dynamic team and will report directly to the Commercial Manager.Focus of New Product Development will, amongst others, be on:

• coordinating and executing tasks for NPD projects from conceptualisation to launch
• Serving as liaison for technical aspects, including launch preparations and collaboration with marketing and retail teams
• understanding factory capabilities, food safety protocols and ability to balance commercial objectives with product development
• support culture of continuous improvement
• continuous market research and interpretation of findings

Social Media responsibilities will include:

• alliance with marketing team in creating creative and original content across various social media platforms
• staying abreast of the latest social media trends, updates and potential collaborations
• ensure and maintain a consistent and high-quality brand identity

The ideal candidate will have:

• a B.Sc. Consumer Science/Food Science/B.Tech Food Technology or relevant culinary qualification
• 2-3 years experience in the FMCG industry (preferably in product development/documentation and recipe formulation)
• strong culinary and food preparation skills
• understanding of social media publishing tools and applications
