Job Description


As a newly qualified Chartered Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance department across a range of functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will offer you exposure to the unique financial aspects of the healthcare industry, while also allowing you to develop professionally in a supportive and collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with industry regulations and accounting standards.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support in preparing and monitoring budgets, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently across healthcare operations.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax returns, VAT filings, and other statutory tax obligations.
  • Internal Controls & Auditing: Collaborate with internal teams and external Auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management, helping to drive operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
  • Healthcare-Specific Reporting: Assist with healthcare-specific financial reporting, including patient billing, claims processing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance the finance functions efficiency.
Requirements:
  • A completed Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
  • A keen interest in the healthcare industry and understanding of the unique financial challenges it presents.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative and dynamic team.
  • Previous internship or experience in a healthcare environment would be beneficial but not essential.
