We admit patients who have been referred from hospitals and other facilities, for further medical, palliative, rehabilitative and psychosocial care.We are based in Wychwood, Germiston, Gauteng and have been operating since 2001.Job Title: Professional Nurse - Facility Manager for a Childrens Step-Down Facility/HospicePosition OverviewLambano Sanctuary is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Services/Facility Manager with Case Management experience. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in steering the day-to-day functionalities, ensuring streamlined operations, and offering support to the nursing staff. You will be responsible for daily administrative tasks in the Hospice and enforcing the organizations ethos, policies and standards. You will be part of the Lambano management team, ensuring the provision of skilled and compassionate nursing care and support to patients and their families. You will report to the Executive Director as well as be part of an interdisciplinary team.Responsibilities:Manage daily operations of the FacilityMake sure the Facility is well run and managed effectivelyWill be required to be on call after hoursLiaise with Doctors, Hospitals, Social Workers, Laboratories and ParentsGet authorisations from medical aids for private patientsWrite reports for medical aid patientsConflict resolution with staff, patients and familiesMentoring and supervision of healthcare providers and support staffProvide internal training to nursing staffEnsure that all infection prevention standards are managed and adhered toImplementation of Policies and Procedures to ensure that the Facility meets quality standardsMake sure that nursing care is up to standardIdentifying risks and making sure potential risks are eliminatedEffective customer satisfaction managementMaintain pre-set inventory standards for supplies, medicines, equipment, oxygen and gas and keep trackResponsible for equipment maintenance management, Liaise with Purchasing and Repairs Manager if any equipment needs maintenanceOversee the management of volunteers and student internsEnsure management of SLAs with external service providersResponsible for coordinating DOH and OHSC inspectionsCompetenciesICD10 and CPT coding experienceValid Drivers Licence -Valid drivers licence with acceptable driving recordMinimum 3 years experience in Medical Aid Administration and Hospital Case ManagementComputer literacy - MS Word, Excel & OutlookCompetent with the Hospital Regulations and PoliciesSkills and Qualifications:A Degree/Diploma in Nursing is requiredValid Registration with SANC as a Registered NurseQualification in Paediatrics and Palliative Care is an advantageMust be willing to study further in Palliative Care if not already doneMust have a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience at the ward levelMust have a minimum of 10 years in direct patient careMust have strong administration skillsMust have strong managerial skills - emotional intelligenceHave a strong work ethicResilient and able to cope with a highly demanding and stressful environmentThe ideal person will have the willingness to assume job ownership, work independently and apply principles of continuous quality and improvement.To apply, submit a CV, current salary, and salary expectations with Facility Manager in the subject line to lyn@lambano.org.za.
