Job Description

MHR is urgently looking for an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to work at an industrial company in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng. Note that this is a long-term contract opportunity.Working hours:

• Monday - Thursday: 07:00-16:30 and Friday: 07:00 - 13:00
• Standby shifts as per standby roster.

Requirements

• Must be available IMMEDIATELY for the following shift times: Monday - Thursday: 07:00-16:30 and Friday: 07:00-13:00
• Must live approximately 30 minutes' drive from site to work standby shifts
• Valid driving licence and a reliable vehicle are compulsory
• Valid indemnity insurance cover is compulsory
• Registered Nurse with SANC
• A dispensing licence is compulsory
• Spirometry and Audiometry qualifications are required
• Vision testing qualification (not compulsory)
• Emergency Care / Trauma experience serves as an advantage
• Post-graduate Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing serves as an advantage
• Proven work experience as an Occupational Health Practitioner
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation
• Good organisational skills, the ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is delivered
• Client service skills, active listening skills, sensitivity and understanding, pay attention to detail
• Good communication skills (writing and verbal)
• Work well under pressure

• Medical surveillance
• Physical examinations
• Fitness declaration against medical standards
• Record keeping
• Ad hoc hearing tests/Vision tests/spirometry
• Report on deviations from medical surveillance
• Report on attendance vs scheduled of medical surveillance
• Capture of information
• Work well under pressure
• Adherence to time frames
• Emergency care experience will be an advantage, but is not compulsory
• Must work well within a team and under pressure
• Maintain a quality system
• Person must have their own transport
• Must be willing to rotate in all departments in the medical station eg. Casualties, Fitness examinations
• Good communication skills
• Dispensing of medication
