They are our greatest asset.Join us and let's grow together.We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Witbank, Mpumalanga area.The succesful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of the Glencore Coal SA occupational hygiene strategy and take the lead in monitoring the consistent implementation in line with Glencore policies, standards, procedures, industry guidelines and legislative framework; and ensuring that programmes and systems are in place and monitored across operations that include occupational hygiene, ventilation, emergency preparedness and fatigue management.Key Responsibilities
Developing, implementing and monitoring the hygiene strategy and action plan to ensure effective implementation and measuring the outcomes for continuous improvement.
Reviewing and identifying opportunities to optimise the occupational hygiene processes and systems through continuous engagements with teams and operations and incorporating feedback to improvement initiatives.
Ensuring that effective processes are in place for emergency preparedness for all Operations and providing specialist advise to management and other relevant stakeholders during times of emergency and crisis.
Identifying risks related to area of responsibility that could have an impact on business and working with the teams and putting in place risk mitigation plans for business continuity.
Ensuring effective reporting on all occupational hygiene aspects for both internal and external purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
A relevant Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Hygiene; OR
Minerals Council Advanced Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
Minimum Experience
8 - 10 Years' experience in occupational hygiene of which 3 years should be at a Superintendent level.
Professional registration as an Occupational Hygienist with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygienists (SAIOH).
Experience in mine ventilation planning, will be advantageous
Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001.
