Netclinic is seeking an experienced and highly motivated

Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP)

to join our dynamic team. This role will involve overseeing, managing, and supporting a network of occupational healthcare clinics across South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of occupational health and safety, providing clinical leadership, and fostering a proactive, preventative approach to employee well-being.

As an OMP, you will work closely with management, healthcare providers, and clients to maintain and improve the health and safety of employees across various industries. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of occupational health policies, conducting health assessments, and managing the clinical operations of the occupational health services network.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight and Management:

Oversee the clinical operation of a network of occupational health clinics across South Africa. Ensure that all clinical activities are compliant with relevant South African health regulations and occupational health standards.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure that all health assessments, screenings, and reports comply with the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as any other relevant regulations. Review and update the health protocols and guidelines regularly.

Supervision of Medical Assessments:

Oversee and manage a team of Occupational Healthcare Practitioners who conduct pre-employment medicals, fitness-for-duty assessments, medical surveillance, and regular health screenings for employees. Ensure that all assessments are performed in compliance with occupational health regulations and company standards, and provide guidance on addressing occupational health risks.

Qualifications:

Medical Degree (MBChB or equivalent) Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Diploma or Masters in Occupational Medicine is preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in occupational medicine, including experience in managing occupational health clinics. Strong understanding of South African occupational health and safety regulations. Experience in managing and leading a healthcare team, with a focus on maintaining high clinical standards.

Additional Requirements:

Must be based in Johannesburg or willing to relocate. Willingness to travel to various clinic locations across South Africa as needed.
