To maintain a safe and clean working environment and provide office support and refreshments at specified times
Location:
James Murray Building, NHLS Braamfontein - Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
Vacuum assigned offices, corridors and common areas
Empty all office and lab waste bins and replace liners
Wipe and dust office furniture and equipment, taking extra care with the lab equipment
Store cleaning equipment and products neatly in designated cupboards
Monitor the usage and stock levels of groceries, consumables and supplies
Report anything in need of ordering, repair or replacement to management
Perform any other similar or ad hoc duties as required
Wash crockery and cutlery and pack it away neatly
Clean sinks, taps and wipe surrounding surfaces
Empty kitchen waste bins
Wipe the microwave, fridge and other kitchen equipment as required
Perform basic sterilisation procedures as required
Maintain grocery and crockery stock
Disinfect and wash floors and lavatories daily
Empty paper towel waste bins
Clean mirrors, doors, and door handles/locks
Check liquid soap dispenser and replace soap as necessary
Setup crockery and refreshments for booked venues at scheduled times
Tidy and clean areas after meetings and/or events
Wash crockery and pack it away neatly
Open/lock doors, open/close windows and deactivate/activate the alarm before and after meetings or events
Report anything in need of ordering, repair or replacement to management
Required minimum education and training:
Grade 12
Required minimum work experience:
Minimum 1 years' experience in office cleaning (laboratory cleaning experience would be advantageous)
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Knowledge on the use of equipment and chemicals needed for cleaning
Should be professional, organised and able to work in a timely manner
Should possess a strong work ethic and a positive approach to tasks
Should be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Should be willing to take instructions from event organisers
Should be punctual and able to follow schedules and work to instructions
Should be able to carry out physical activities i.e. lift and push equipment and furniture, bend, stoop and kneel
