Duties and responsibilities:
  • Maintain electrical equipment and systems (outlets, lights, LV DBs, all small and large appliances and temporary power).
  • Do Maintenance of LV installations, MV Substations, changeovers and streetlights.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (including Fire detection and Solar maintenance).
  • Request quotes from outside contractors, setting up specs for tenders in line with UFS policies.
  • Promote OHS.
  • Must be available to work standby after hours.
Inherent requirements:
  • Qualified as a 3-phase installation electrician.
  • N6 electrical engineering certificate.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience as an electrician.
  • Valid driver's license.
Recommendations:
  • Knowledge of MV systems (11kV).
  • Knowledge of stand-by generators.
  • Working on fire detection systems.
  • Solar maintenance.

The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R421 476.38 - R530 190.63 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.Fringe benefits:
