They are our greatest asset.Join us and lets grow together.We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Witbank, Mpumalanga area.The succesful candidate will be responsible to manage the Opencast Operations, ensuring deliver against the Business Plan in the areas of Safety and Production trough Selection, Development and Optimal utilisation of people and equipment, the Management and Monitoring of the relevant Processes and Continuous Improvement Projects; the Identification and Management of Risk; and the creation of a Culture and Work Environment that is in line with the Glencore Values and Code of Conduct.Key Responsibilities
Development, implementation and monitoring of the functional strategy and action plan for the Opencast areas to ensure the effective management of productivities and efficiencies; cost; health and safety and related people issues.
Day to day management of the Opencast Operations.
Managing compliance with the MHSA and Internal Company HSE Policies and Procedures.
Ensuring the proper allocation, deployment and monitoring of people and other resources.
Process Management through ensuring the development and maintenance of the appropriate knowledge and competence amongst the team, compliance with process controls and standards and reviewing and implementing best practice; and
Ongoing review of performance and driving and overseeing the implementation of business improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
A relevant 4 Year Tertiary Qualification.
A Mine Managers Certificate of Competency or having passed the equivalent of the DMR part C (Law Exam).
A Business qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum Experience:
10 Years Opencast coal mining experience of which 3 years must be at a Production Manager or Technical Services Manager level (Technical Services Managers must have production experience in a D-Level position).
