Job Description


Purpose:
Provide financial management support and advice to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with company policy and statutory regulations. Manage and control all financial-related activities, focusing on financial reporting, risk, and compliance. Support the senior management team in strategic financial decision-making.
Key Accountabilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Compile balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Present financial reports to OPCO meetings and the board.
  • Cost Analysis & Control:
  • Analyze costs versus budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review expenditure reports.
  • Procurement:
  • Manage procurement operations.
  • Supervise group stationery and procurement.
  • Negotiate purchase terms and monitor supplier performance.
  • Stock Management:
  • Oversee monthly stock counts.
  • Conduct spot checks and manage stock receiving procedures.
  • Treasury Function:
  • Verify and release electronic bank payments.
  • Maintain optimal cash flow.
  • Conduct petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
  • Fleet Management:
  • Manage vehicle sourcing, maintenance, and asset sales.
  • Fixed Assets:
  • Maintain fixed asset register and ensure safe keeping.
  • Adhere to project management protocols.
  • Payroll:
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll submission.
  • Review and approve final pay register.
  • Accounts Receivable:
  • Review debtors' age analysis and investigate issues.
  • Operational Support:
  • Perform late, night, and duty manager shifts.
  • Mitigate operational risks and ensure controls are effective.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Calculate and reconcile VAT.
  • Review EMP201 submissions.
  • Budgeting:
  • Compile and review annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare budgeted financial statements.
  • Audit:
  • Prepare annual audit files.
  • Assist in resolving audit queries.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS for SMEs.
  • Leadership:
  • Manage team performance and conduct appraisals.
  • Develop relationships with EXCO and BU managers.
  • Ensure team proficiency in financial systems.
  • Ad-Hoc Requests:
  • Provide support for various financial requests.
  • CEO Support:
  • Assist CEO with fleet management, procurement, leases, and asset sales.
Qualifications:
  • BCom Hons with articles or equivalent essential
  • CIMA, CA (SA) preferable
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years management experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Hospitality & Tourism industry experience beneficial
  • Advanced MS Office and Financial Accounting Systems knowledge (SAGE Partner/Evolution)
