Description of Company:Our client is a distributor of internationally and locally made high-quality home, garden and outdoor products.Job Summary:The Operations and Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's daily operations and procurement activities. This role involves managing supply chain processes (international and local), ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement of inventory (local and imported), and optimising operational workflows to enhance productivity and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management and procurement, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.Key Responsibilities:Operations Management:

• Oversee daily business operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency
• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment and seamless workflow
• Manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet sales demands, while minimising carrying costs
• Conduct cost analysis and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement within the logistics chain
• Monitor the movement of goods through tracking systems and resolve any issues or delays in the logistics flow
• Manage the process of handling returned goods and coordinate reverse logistics operations
• Oversee warehouse operations, including storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods
• Compile cost analysis and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement within the logistics chain

Procurement Management:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory (local and imports).
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and identify potential new suppliers
• Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, invoicing, and payment reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations and procurement professionals
• Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in operations and procurement management, preferably in a medium-sized business environment
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement processes, and inventory control
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced) and ERP software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement

Qualification Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

Experience:

• At least 5 years' experience in operations management
