Job Description

SplashOut has an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Manager (Audio-Visual) to be based at


Columbine, Durban. The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the


company while primarily focusing on business development. This includes identifying new business

opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. In addition, the Operations

Manager will ensure that projects are delivered efficiently on time, and within budget, while also

collaborating with the leadership team to refine operational strategies and improve processes.



Minimum requirements:



5 years of experience in Operations Management. 3 to 5 years' experience in managing a team. 3-5 years' experience in Project Management. A minimum of 2 years' experience in Sales Development. A Valid Driver License.


Advantageous:



Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field Familiarity with AV Project Management


Responsibilities:



Financial metrics



Business Development:



New Business Acquisition: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the audio-visual industry. Develop and implement strategies to increase market share. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored AV solutions. Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute business strategies, pitches, and proposals to drive revenue and expand the client base. Market Analysis: Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, emerging technologies, and new business avenues. Partnership Development: Establish and nurture partnerships with vendors, manufacturers, and other strategic collaborators to enhance product offerings and expand the company's network. Ability to travel Nationally and Internationally


Operations & Project Management:



Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's AV projects, ensuring smooth execution from concept to delivery. Team Leadership: Manage and lead the operations team, including project managers, technicians, and support staff. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management. Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Quality Assurance: Ensure all AV installations, events, and projects meet quality standards and client expectations. Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, and cost control measures are in place.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:



Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the leadership team to align operational goals with business development objectives and company-wide strategies. Client Presentations: Lead or assist in the preparation and delivery of presentations to clients, demonstrating technical expertise and understanding of their needs. Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular performance reports, including business development progress, project status updates, and financial performance, to senior management.


People



Assist the Commercial Manager with the creation and maintenance of roles and job descriptions and KPIs. Performance management of staff and disciplinary that are your direct reports. Enforcing ethical, honest, transparent, fair work environment. Sourcing of training as and when needed for staff. Adequate recognition of staff efforts. Talent retention. Succession planning. Sustainable morale and team building. Oversee recruitment and related interviews. Induction and comfort for new team members. Implementation of HR initiatives. Monitoring of employee productivity. Effective communication with all team members, departments and customers.


Compliance, risk and quality



Creating, maintaining and enforcing company policies and procedures. Compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Intense focus on providing stock control / buying with accurate customer specifications. Maintenance of department process write-ups / system descriptions and quarterly updating. Ensure logical saving of all work, templates, etc. monthly and yearly such that each year's financial

records can stand on its own when enquiries/ investigations/audits take place.

Produce high quality, neat, logical, succinct, easy to follow, easy to understand, formula linked work/templates/workbooks/financial models - of which is substantiated by facts with no numbers in the formulas. Ensure the above (final version) and other documents are chronologically saved/backed up. Effectively deal with internal, external, SARS and BEE auditors.


Growth and new markets/products



Customer and Supplier relationship management. Assist with company projects or lead company projects if specific to stock control. Automation and management of the ordering process using Pastel / HIS / Websites.

Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail. Must be result-driven. Ability to manage multiple projects. Team player and ability to show initiative at all times. Ability to work under pressure and still produce quality results timeously. Must prioritize and anticipate time frames and plan accordingly.
