SARTA Recruitment has an opportunity for an Operations Manager who will manage the Installation and Service division ! The position is based in Durban, KZN. The main purpose is to oversee the day-to-day operations within the telecommunications and connectivity sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry. PLEASE NOTE ONLY APPLICANTS FROM THE TELCO/CONNECTIVITY industry wil be considered for this position!Key Responsibilities:Technical Department Management:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical department, ensuring optimal performance and service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Director and Technical Managers to align technical operations with overall business objectives.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing SOPs to ensure efficient and effective operations within the technical team.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs across all operational functions, fostering consistency and quality.
Customer Service and Installation Oversight:
  • Oversee the effective functioning of customer service, installations, and warehouse operations, ensuring high service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by addressing issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review operational policies and procedures to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify and address operational problems and opportunities, implementing solutions to drive continuous improvement.
Team Leadership and Support:
  • Provide operational support and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist in employee appraisals, promotions, compensation, and terminations based on performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss issues, concerns, updates, and opportunities for improvement.
Recruitment and Training:
  • Assist in interviewing, and training candidates to build a skilled and effective technical service team.
  • Support the continuous development of team members through training and professional development opportunities.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation for operational procedures and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Team Development and Improvement:
  • Improve and build upon the current technical service team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Identify areas for team development and implement strategies to enhance skills and performance.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Completed Matric.
  • Relevant qualification in operations management/project management OR a related field is preferred.
  • Min. 5 years experience in management/operations, and leadership roles within the telecommunications or connectivity industry.
  • TELCO/Connectivity industry ESSENTIAL!!!!
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting principles.
  • Valid license plus own reliabe transport.
