Job Purpose




The primary job purpose of the operations manager is to oversee all aspects of a warehouse's operations, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval and distribution of goods by managing staff, inventory levels and processes to meet customer demands whilem optimising productivity and cost-effectiveness within the warehouse facility.. Overall the wharehouse operations manager plays a crucial role in coordinating the entire warehouse operation, ensuring smooth product flow and meeting customer delivery expectations while maintaining operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience



Qualifications




Grade 12 Relevant tertiary qualification - Supply Chain and Logistics Management diploma / degree



Experience




Minimum of 5 years experience within the FMCG industry Management of small fleet of vehicles Experience of storage of chemicals and understanding the associated risks Experience on Cargowise Warehouse Management system

Key Responsibilities



Inventory management




Ensure that all clients are on-boarded onto Cargowise 1 Warehouse Management System. Ensure that automated stock on hand reports are set up for clients Ensuren that the Cargowise system is effectively used for client stock mtakes Ensure weekly plan accounts for cycle counts for entire product range Ensure each client account is subjected to a monthly physical stock count comparing the physical stock on floor to Cargowise stock at hand in line with the SLA requirements Ensure that cycle counts and stock take results are submitted to clients in line with SLA requirements

Operations




Chep recons - ensure weekly CHEP reconciliations are completed and documented Material Handling equipment - ensure that all MHE checklists are reveiwed daily and that all deviations and repairs required are attended to Claims - ensure that all claims or potential claims are being logged and investigated warehouse lay-out and optimization - managing warehouse space to maximise storage capacity and streamline product movement Quality control - implementing quality chekcs to ensure product integrity throughout the warehouse process Compliance management - ensure adherence to safety regulations and compony policies within the warehouse

Client interaction




Ensure all client complaints are being dealt with timeously Submit a monthly report to General Manager, detailing complaints received Attend SLA meetings with clients where required to do so

People Management




Leading and managing warehouse staff, assigning taks and ensuring proper training to maintain operational efficiencies Contract labour management

Finance




Ensure that all operational billing activities are accounted for monthly Review monthly billing schedules Cost control measure to be put in place

Management reports




* The monthly management reports to be done - CHEP recon, EC scorecard, Stock loss report, Operational Report, OTP Progress report, Management review pack
