BackgroundThe company is a leading provider of high quality food products. They are growing fast and are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee their operations and ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance in our production facility.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure that all operations are carried out in an effective, efficient, quality and cost-effective manner, ensuring service levels are met.
• Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
• Manage and lead production teams, ensuring productivity and performance.
• Ensure that production activities are performed to the highest standards and according to best practice principles.
• Implement and maintain food safety, health, and hygiene standards.
• Ensure all quality control and food safety standards are met in production facilities.
• Monitor and improve processes to minimize waste and maximise efficiency.
• Work closely with supply chain, technical, and logistics teams.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Budget management and cost control.
• Responsible for developing and operational budget incl. CAPEX projects, management of costs and projects.
• Focused on continuous improvement, leading improvement projects and other projects (incl. CAPEX projects).
• Lead, develop and nurture a competent operational team.
• Train and develop staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification - Business Management or Operations Management, preferably a Bachelor in Commerce.
• At least 10 years' experience in a FMCG environment, with previous knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness (OEE's, waste reduction etc.) and operations management.
• Strong background in leadership and management, including managing a number of operational teams. Previous experience in a similar food manufacturing industry will be an advantage.
• Solid project management experience is critical.
• Computer literate (Ms Excel skills, exposure to or experience with an ERP system will be an advantage).
• Proven experience in a production management role, preferably in the food industry.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with production planning and process optimisation.
