Centered around innovation and quality, Cape Herb and Spice gives any candidate a great opportunity to gain extensive local as well as international experience and build an exciting career.Job Objective:The Operations Manager leads the manufacturing team to ensure plant metrics are achieved in a safe, timely, quality, cost efficient and productive manner. The incumbent is accountable for the achievement of product quality and foods safety, manufacturing costs, inventory management, productivity, strike rate and HSE compliance.The Ops Manager will be a key driver in development and implementation of facility and process improvement initiatives.Key Functional Areas:Responsible for overall management of the manufacturing processes as well as pre and post manufacturing support functions and activities.Manage monthly as well as annual metrics to support operation productivity, quality, food safety, delivery and H&S.Ensure compliance and accuracy on Procedures, Systems and ProcessesEnsure accurate and efficient Inventory ManagementReport on performance measures on a predetermined frequencyLead a team of motivated Supervisors and Managers in a customer focussed and efficiency driven environmentResponsible for continuous improvement, management of best practices, documenting standard work, and ensuring highest possible levels of productivity.Drive the implementation of as well as compliance with the company Food Safety, Quality and HSE programs.Manage third party service providers.Manage costs against budgets set.Ensure site is appropriately staffed and functions are covered based on shift schedule.Manage team by effectively reviewing and providing feedback on KPIs.TrainingManagement of Logistics into and out of the siteRequired prior learning/ experience:Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required5- 10 years' People management experience is required5- 10 years' Production Management and leadership experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment.Experience in implementing world class manufacturing practicesPersonal Characteristics:Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and interpersonal.Proven leadership, management and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to make decisions and provide direction.Strong drive for results is essential, with self-directed leadership, requiring minimal supervision & being proactive.Systems driven, Cape Herb and Spice rely heavily on data to back decisions and actions as well as reporting and querying inventory variances so the incumbent must be keen to learn and utilize systems which will ultimately simplify their role.Must possess high ethical standards and ability to abide by CHSs values and philosophies.If you have not received a response within two weeks of application submission, kindly consider your application unsuccessful.To consider any application for employment, we will have to process your personal information.
