Operations Manager
Job Description
EPX Courier Services is looking for a seasoned operations manager for the Pinetown Branch in Durban. The experienced professional will have at least five years experience in managing logistics, freight and staff.
Monitoring freight collections, departures and arrivals
Ensuring timeous departures of vehicles
Monitoring and managing freight handling and the application of collection and dispatch procedures
Monitoring expenses including fuel consumption, vehicle services, milage records, traffic violations, freight discrepancies and damaged freight.
Managing data capturing processes and procedures
Monitoring and ensuring:
on time delivery, actioning missed collections, ensuring data capturing errors are fixed, optimising productivity levels per route and effective POD capturingMaintaining assets like scanners, warehouse equipment and ensuring vehicle maintenance are done timeously
Managing and controlling a staff compliment of 100 people and taking corrective action in terms of problems identified
Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates with at least 5 years operational logistics experience.
Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Transport will be advantageous
Must be fluent in English
Knowledge of logistical/courier software - Parcel Perfect
Strong managerial skills and able to work in a high-pressure environment
An in-depth understanding of freight operational processes and knowledge of road freight in South Africa
Work well under pressure and motivate staff
Attention to details and accuracy
Self-motivated, presentable and willing to work flexible hours
