Job Description


ENVIRONMENT:PLAN, direct and coordinate the warehouse operations, picking and packing processes, stock management, distribution and reverse logistics as the next Operations Manager sought by a cutting-edge Mobile Specialist. You will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. You will also establish and maintain appropriate systems and reports to monitor, evaluate and report on all operational departments. The successful incumbent will require a Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Business Administration or a related field with years previous work experience in Supply Chain preferably in cell phone distribution industry including strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management and logistics & must have extensive or sound experience working on SAP and Excel.DUTIES:Warehouse Management -

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, and organizing cell phone inventory.
  • Implement efficient warehouse layout and storage techniques to maximize space utilization and ease of access.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Picking and Packing -
  • Develop and optimize picking and packing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor productivity metrics and implement improvements to meet operational goals and customer delivery expectations.
  • Train, lead and supervise Warehouse staff to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in picking and packing operations.
Stock Management -
  • Implement inventory control measures to track and manage cell phones effectively.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
Distribution -
  • Plan and oversee cell phone distribution to ensure safe, secure, timely and cost-effective delivery of cell phones to branches, customers, and retail partners.
  • Optimize transportation routes to minimize distribution costs and delivery lead times.
  • Resolve delivery issues and customer complaints related promptly and effectively.
  • Manage the company fleet.
Reverse Logistics -
  • Develop and manage OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) processes for handling returns and repairs of cell phones through efficient reverse logistics.
  • Coordinate with reverse logistics department, couriers and repair centres to streamline reverse logistics processes and optimise lead times.
  • Implement procedures for refurbishing, recycling or disposing of faulty cell phones and components in compliance with environmental regulations.
Security & Risk -
  • Ensure that warehouse and office premises are secure at all times.
  • Ensure that all areas are adequately monitored via CCTV and alarm systems.
  • Ensure alignment with 3rd party security company at all times.
  • Ensure that high-value loads are secure and escorted.
  • Management of protocols for opening and closing of premises.
Occupational Health & Safety -
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensure workplace is neat and tidy at all times
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • Ensure adherence to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Report all Health and Safety concerns to Management.
Stocktake reconciliations.Recruit, train and manage staff.REQUIREMENTS:Qualifications -
  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience/Skills -
  • At least 10-years previous work experience in Supply Chain preferably in cell phone distribution industry.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management and logistics.
  • Must have extensive or sound experience working on SAP and Excel.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Process Improvement and Supply Chain optimisation.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate with staff, customers, service providers and business partners.
  • Knowledge of Business and Management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Financial and Accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource/Labour Relations principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
  • Fleet Management.
  • Stock Reconciliations.
