What will you do?
This is a specialist management position that reports directly to the COO and serves on the MWL MANCO. This role is accountable for providing operational management and support for the Underwriting function across the MWL business and undertakes medical underwriting as required.
Key responsibilities include:
Execute and maintain the Underwriting philosophy and strategy to support new business, client servicing and claims.
Maintain and continually improve operational best practices and processes
People management
Manage stakeholder relationships
Drive operational effectiveness and efficiencies
Undertake required related MIS, analysis and reporting
Manage team expenses
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualification & experience
Matric with Nursing Degree/Diploma or relevant medical qualification
3-5 years underwriting experience is required
Experience in financial distribution services/sales/call centre environment
People management experience will be advantageous

Qualification and Experience
Diploma with 8 to 12 years related experience. Underwriting limit R2.5 million.
