Operator Intermediate / Quality Control InspectorEssity is a leading global hygiene and health company which develops, produces and sells Health & Medical, Consumer Tissue and Professional Hygiene products and solutions and has a strong global presence.We are looking for a suitably experienced and qualified Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality team based at our manufacturing plant in Pinetown, South Africa.About the RoleWe have an opportunity for an Operator Intermediate / Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality team in Pinetown. The successful incumbent will be responsible for conducting formal line opening and line closing as well as an online quality inspection within the responsible production areas (Surgical Dressing, Surgipak, Cuticell & RST) to ensure compliance to quality & regulatory standards.We're looking for people who embody our values, aren't afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace. If this is you, we'd love to talk.What You Will DoEnsure compliance to documented quality processes and procedures within the responsible production areas.Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, process and quality system.Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.Internal calibration of testing equipment i.e. scales, balances and steel rulers.Identify and notify production and the QA department of any non-conforming work in progress, raw materials/components and finished products and produce reports thereof.Quarantine or reject work in progress, raw materials/components and finished products and notify the laboratory staff thereof.Maintain quality records in relation to all in process checks as per departmental procedures.May sometimes be required to calculate and compile statistical data for reports related to material usage and product faults to the QA department.Maintains and upkeeps a safe and neat working environment by adhering to all GMP requirements.Who You AreMust have Matric with basic numerical skills.Knowledge of ISO 13485:2016.A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a production or quality control environment.Good understanding of quality requirements and processes within the Surgical Dressing, Surgipak, Cuticell & RST production facility.Basic understanding of laboratory procedure and equipment.Knowledge of the Microsoft package (Word, Excel etc).Must speak, read and write fluent English.You are result orientated with a high sense of urgency and proactive.Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written.)Must be able to collaborate and work across functional teams.What We Can Offer YouAt Essity, we believe every career is as unique as the individual and empower employees to reach their full potential in a winning culture motivated by a powerful purpose.
