Job Description

Role title:

Oracle Database Administrator

Contract: 12 months

Key accountabilities

Oracle Database administration

o Perform database backups and recovery procedures.


o Manage database users, roles, and permissions.


o Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing.


o Monitor database health and performance using monitoring tools.


o Participate in database upgrades and migrations.

Exadata Management

o Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Exadata systems.


o Monitor and troubleshoot Exadata infrastructure and database performance.


o Perform capacity planning and resource allocation for Exadata environments.


o Manage Exadata storage and network components.


o Ensure the availability and performance of Oracle databases running on Exadata.

Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) Management

o Design, implement, and manage Oracle GoldenGate replication environments.


o Configure and optimize OGG capture and apply processes.


o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OGG replication.


o Ensure data consistency and integrity across replicated databases.


o Manage OGG security and access controls.

Other

o Develop and maintain scripts for automating tasks.


o Document procedures and configurations.


o Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., network, storage).


o Provide 24/7 support for critical systems, including on-call rotations.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience :

Oracle Database

o In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database 19c.


o Experience with Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, and ASM.


o Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and RMAN.


o Experience with database replication technologies (e.g., Data Guard, GoldenGate).

Exadata

o Experience with Oracle Exadata architecture, storage, and network components.


o Familiarity with Exadata System Software and monitoring tools (e.g., ExaWatcher).

Oracle GoldenGate (OGG)

o Experience with configuring and managing Oracle GoldenGate for data replication.


o Knowledge of OGG capture and apply processes.


o Experience with OGG monitoring and troubleshooting.

Other

o Experience in Oracle Linux administration.


o Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl)


o Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).


o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.


o Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

:


o 5 or more years of Technical experience across Oracle technologies in terms of architecture, design , implementation, and support.


o Relevant Oracle DBA qualifications / certifications.


o Experience working with Oracle Exadata and OGG.
