Job Summary Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in healthcare? We're looking for an Organ Procurement Coordinator (Transplant Coordinator) to be based in Pretoria. To be successful, you'll play a pivotal role in facilitating the entire organ transplant process. From communication and coordination between donors, recipients, and medical teams to managing the organ donation process, you'll be at the forefront of life-saving initiatives. Experience & Education Minimum 5 years' experience in an ICU . Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills An intermediate level of Computer Literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications Knowledge of trends and developments in the health care industry, health-related policies, procedures and legislation A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) with a Critical Care Dip /Deg or 6 month certification in/medical and surgical nursing registered with SANC . Current registration with SANC. Counselling ability, including HIV counselling skills Current and valid BLS and ACLS certification. PALS certification - optional . Key Responsibilities Communicate and coordinate with donors, recipients, and medical professionals Manage the deceased organ donor process Facilitate the procurement of viable organs for transplantation Assist during organ recovery, transportation, and post-transfer follow-up Act as an expert in transplantation, providing information, and preparing presentations to support standards of care Support the principle of organ donation and transplantation Support of the ever evolving business strategy of patient centered health and care Communicate organ donation and transplantation information to medical, nursing and emergency services employees in order to promote organ referrals Liaise with all allied healthcare partners, the blood bank, laboratories and all other relevant departments in order to track samples, optimise progress and expedite availability of results for screening of potential donors Work as a member of the team, engage and form strategic and synergistic partnerships with other divisions Participate in organ transplant program planning and management within the health system Embrace and support transplant digitalisation project Deal with difficult stakeholders (internal and external) appropriately Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders in the business that encourages participation in the accomplishment of transplant objectives Coordinate the critical step by step prerequisites and in hospital arrangements required by the transplant team to manage the organ donor including logistical requirementsMednurse Health Recruitment2005Unit 19 9th Floor, 4 Loop Street10-30MedicalRecruiterAboutMednurse is a permanent nursing and health recruitment agency that works with the best private hospitals in Gauteng, the Western Cape and more!
