Job Description

Job Purpose:The Packaging Analyst is responsible for the design and development of returnable and specialized packaging solutions. This involves creating 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD Inventor, overseeing the manufacturing process, and ensuring project success through effective project management and regular site visits.Additionally, this role includes research and development, technical specifications, process control, materials procurement, and managing packaging projects from design to implementation.Minimum Requirements:Education:

• High School (Grade 12) with a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Preferred:

• National Certificate: Multi-Disciplinary Draughting (N5)
• National Diploma: Structural Steel Work Detailing (NQF 5)
• Mechanical Engineering Qualification

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Material Planning and Logistics (MP&L), Engineering, or Manufacturing.
• Experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of Returnable Packaging Solutions is advantageous.

Technical Skills & Software Knowledge:

• 2D/3D CAD Design Software Preferred: Autodesk Inventor.
• MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Projects.
• Project Management and Time Management skills.

Key Responsibilities:Design & Development:

• Develop high-quality packaging solutions with attention to detail.
• Conduct thorough analysis of client specifications and engineering drawings.
• Create detailed scope of work based on client interaction.
• Prepare technical 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD Inventor.
• Present final packaging solutions to clients for approval.

Cost Accounting & Procurement:

• Collaborate with finance, purchasing departments, and external suppliers to define project costs.
• Conduct feasibility analyses for proposed packaging solutions.
• Ensure alignment of costing, material specifications, and technical drawings before internal review.
• Assist business development teams with design, product, and material specifications.

Project Management:

• Communicate effectively with manufacturing facilities to ensure smooth production.
• Conduct regular site visits to oversee the manufacturing process and update technical drawings.
• Coordinate procurement of materials and manufacturing activities.
• Identify and organize resources to meet project deadlines.
• Monitor project milestones and adjust action plans as needed.
• Provide strategic input to optimize packaging efficiency, costs, and materials usage.
