Job Description

Overall responsibility





We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Packaging Unit Manager

to oversee the efficient utilization of plant, raw materials, and personnel to produce a

high-quality product at minimal cost

while meeting customer requirements and complying with legislation. This role requires

strong leadership, operational efficiency, and a commitment to continuous improvement

in a high-speed production environment.




Productivity & Operations




Achieve and improve all

production line targets

. Implement corrective actions to prevent substandard products and drive

continuous improvement

. Control

fixed costs, beer loss, and container loss

. Ensure the

packaging line is clean and organized

at all times. Ensure

packaged volumes by brand/pack

align with production plans. Comply with

safety standards and statutory requirements

. Facilitate and lead

maintenance postmortems

, capturing insights for improvement. Report on

efficiencies, downtime, and production issues

.

People & Performance Management




Lead and motivate teams, including

performance appraisals, discipline, training, and development

. Recruit, select, and appoint staff, ensuring the right

skills and capacity

are in place. Set and monitor

team and individual goals

. Conduct

team reviews

and address training and development needs. Manage

employee performance, grievances, and workplace relations

. Drive a positive

Industrial Relations (IR) climate

and

manage absenteeism

effectively.

Quality, Safety & Compliance




Ensure the

packaging process meets all quality standards

. Promote a

safety-first culture

, ensuring adherence to

Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies

. Ensure staff are aware of

First Aid and Incident Reporting Procedures

. Take proactive steps to prevent

health and safety hazards

.

Business & Financial Management




Participate in

operational planning and budgeting processes

. Drive

cost efficiency

, identifying and addressing financial risks. Streamline and

optimize operational practices and processes

.

Key Requirements




Degree in Engineering

or equivalent

3-5 years' experience

in

Production Management

Experience in

high-speed packaging plant & equipment

PC literate

(Microsoft Office proficiency) Strong understanding of

Maintenance Processes & Packaging Equipment

Assertive leadership

with excellent people management skills Strong

diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
