Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Packhouse Manager to join our team at Fresh Goods Durban. The Packhouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the packhouse operations to ensure the timely and efficient packaging of fresh goods.Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of packhouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for packaging and sorting fresh goods
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards for all packaged products
- Coordinate with suppliers and distributors to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping of stock levels
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the packhouse
- Oversee equipment maintenance and repair to ensure optimal functioningQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food Science or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a packhouse or similar operational role
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards
