The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing expert advice on a wide range of tax matters, including corporate tax, VAT, international tax, and cross-border transactions. This role will also involve driving business development, leading the tax team, and shaping the firm's tax strategy.Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-level tax advisory services to corporate clients, multinationals, and high-net-worth individuals on tax structuring, compliance, and transactional tax issues.
• Lead business development efforts, identifying new opportunities to expand the firm's tax practice and grow the client base.
• Deliver strategic tax advice on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and cross-border transactions.
• Stay abreast of local and international tax legislation, ensuring clients receive cutting-edge advice that maximizes tax efficiency while maintaining compliance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by offering tailored solutions to complex tax matters.
• Lead and mentor the tax team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment while ensuring the professional development of junior staff.
• Oversee the financial performance of the tax practice, managing budgets, billing, and ensuring sustainable growth.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory tax obligations, managing risks within the practice and collaborating closely with the compliance team.

Skills & Qualifications:

• LLB, BCom, or equivalent qualification in law, accounting, or finance, with a specialization in tax.
• Admitted attorney, chartered accountant, or certified tax advisor with a minimum of 10+ years of post-qualification experience in tax advisory.
• At least 5 years of experience in a partner or senior leadership role, with a proven track record in business development.
• Extensive experience in corporate tax, VAT, international tax, transfer pricing, and tax compliance.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
• Deep knowledge of South African tax laws and international tax regulations.
• Excellent business acumen and experience managing the P&L of a department.
