Ensure that the following aspects of new car sales are managed by the New Car Sales Manager and assist him/her in the following aspects where necessary:
Review the importance of managing stock levels and ageing of units in terms of costs
Managing the use of rebates and realising the importance of outstanding rebates and writebacks
Pre-reports. Review the importance of managing pre-reports stock levels
Floor Plan. Managing the floor plan (new & demo) and the transferring of funds
Demo stock, allocation. Realising the importance of demo stock, condition check, allocations, and retail pricing
Debtors & Receipting. Check debtors list and manage outstanding funds
Ensure full stock list advertising on new vehicles
Vehicles in cash recon. Utilise the floor plan to ensure it balances with the dealerships cash on hand
Ensure the expeditious resolving of customer complaints
Price setting: Ensure that sales staff stay competitive and that they have knowledge of car prices
Marketing of new cars. Ensure that marketing plans are in place. Review data, costs, OEM requirements, etc
Deal file reviews. Ensure that staff are aware that information on deal files are correct and that they understand the legal aspects thereof
Responsible for scorecard items and realisation of the importance of each of them
Used Car Sales - ensure that the following aspects of new car sales are managed by the Used Car Sales Manager and assist him/her in the following aspects where necessary:
Manage stock ageing and the review of used cars
Manage the utilisation of the floor plan and how to obtain the funds
Ensure that you are aware of the debtors list and managing outstanding funds
Manage SIVs and recon
Advertising of the stock list
Managing the processes around NATIS documents, cash flow, selling and possible fraud in this area
Managing the wholesale of cars
PARTS
Ensure that the following aspects of parts are managed by the Parts Manager and assist him/her in the following aspects where necessary:
Check parts sale recons and statements
Manage parts debtors in terms of account holders, managing accounts and how they are created
Manage parts stock holding and ageing of stock. Ensure stock holding of fast movers. Keep stock levels at a controllable low level
Ensure that daily perpetual stock takes are performed
Ensure that quarterly full stock takes are done
Potential take backs of parts. Handling fees and our policy
Check parts reports, to know what excess stock exists and how to endeavour to clear these stock items
WORKSHOP
Ensure that the following aspects of the workshop are managed by the Service Manager and assist him/her in the following aspects where necessary:
WIP (work in progress report). Manage all aspects on the report and identify problems early
Manage cash sales to ensure daily banking and elimination of fraud on cash deals
Managing warranty and service claims with regards to ageing and write offs
Ensure daily bookings are maximised to ensure optimal flow through the workshop
Manage and monitor technician labour sales
Manage workshop scorecard items
GENERAL MANAGEMENT / ACCOUNTING
Manage day to day concerns of dealership operations
Play a crucial role during selection and interviews for management all within the dealerships
Provide direction and structure for all departments as it relates to risk, profitability and staff
Ensure the CSI within the dealerships are maintained
Reduce inefficient expenses at the dealership
Ensure net profitability of the dealership
Overall sign off and responsibility for staff debtors
Check creditors reports and manage payments
Manage the credit note file review. Sign off on all creditor notes
Manage petty cash recons and floats
Checking of cash on hand and bank recons
Manage payroll in terms of sign off on recons, payslips, inputs, incentives, etc.
With guidance from the Group HR Manager, manage all aspects such as recruitment, training, disciplinary and performance management
GENERAL MANAGEMENT / ADHOC
Carry out additional reasonable duties, from time to time, at the discretion of management.
Minimum Qualification:
Grade 12
Tertiary qualification in Business Operations
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of motor industry managerial experience at a senior level as Dealer Principal
Dealer operations software
Microsoft Office packages
